Balance Audio Levels & Pan Tracks in Fairlight | DaVinci Resolve 21 (Lesson 5)

Learn how to balance dialogue, sound effects, and music. Then pan audio to follow the action onscreen using the Fairlight page in DaVinci Resolve 20.

In Lesson 5 of The Complete Fairlight Audio Course, we’ll use meters, clip gain, keyframes, normalization, and Dialogue Leveler to create consistent audio levels. Then we’ll place sounds in the panoramic sound field and explore manual and automatic pan tracking.

In Lesson 3 of The Complete Fairlight Audio Course, we’ll create a spotting list, find and edit sound effects, precisely synchronize sounds to picture, and edit music using beats, track layers, nested timelines, and custom crossfades.

Learn how to edit production dialogue and voiceover using the Fairlight page in DaVinci Resolve 20.

In Lesson 2 of The Complete Fairlight Audio Course, we’ll work with multichannel recordings, organize dialogue into a checkerboard edit, compare multiple voiceover takes, and combine the best parts into one seamless performance.
