What is Landscape Architecture?

According to Wikipedia - Landscape Architecture is the design of outdoor public areas, landmarks and structures to achieve environmental, social-behavioral or aesthetic outcomes.

What does this really mean?

Landscape Architecture is all around you.  It is the city street you walk along, the sportsfield you play on, the park you enjoy taking walks though, the playground your children play at, and even the back yard oasis you have created to relax in.  As a Landscape Architect, I design the environment around us.  Anything from residential planting design, to site master planning, urban design, playgrounds, public parks and storm water management, Landscape Architects are part of the teams that design and bring these spaces to life.

Below are some of the projects I have had the opportunity to work on.  Landscape Architecture has required me to wear many different 'hats' to complete projects - Designer, Project Manager, Planner, Supervisor, Teacher, Researcher, Production Leader, Estimator, Graphic Artist, Photographer, Renderer, and more.

Using the links below, I have highlighted three recent projects I have worked on or completed along with compositing and graphic samples.  These represent a small sampling of the many projects I have worked on in my nearly 16 years as a Landscape architect.  If you have questions about any of these projects or other things I've worked on, please contact me through the contact page.
