ALEXANDER HAMILTON SKATE PARK, New York, NY  (2008-2014)

Client:  New York State Department of Transportation

Project Description

As part of the reconstruction of the Alexander Hamilton Bridge, a public skateboard park was constructed underneath the bridge and adjoining Ramp TE.  The ‘skate plaza’ is a completely custom skateboard park, which will include a large variety of elements to fit all skill levels.  Many of the elements within the skate plaza replicate legendary New York City skateboarding locations.  Working with an expert skateboard park consultant, the final design incorporates the features desired by the skateboard community and embraced by the skateboarding culture.  Project is currently under construction and nearly complete.  The Grand Opening is scheduled for spring 2014.
